NEW DELHI: The India women's cricket team produced an all-round performance to hand arch-rivals Pakistan a massive 88-run defeat in their ICC Women's World Cup match at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday. With this win, India extended their perfect head to head record to 12-0 in ODIs.

Deepti Sharma starred with both bat and ball, playing a crucial knock of 25 on a sluggish track and taking three wickets to help India secure a comfortable win. She also effected a run out when her direct hit caught Muneeba Ali's bat in the air after it had initially touched the ground.

For her outstanding performance on the field, Deepti Sharma was awarded the Best Fielder medal in the BTS dressing room. Wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh, who had won the award in the tournament opener, presented the medal to Deepti.

"God is great," said Deepti in the video posted by BCCI Women on social media on Monday.

Despite fielding concerns, coach Munish Bali praised the standout performances of Deepti Sharma, captain Harmanpreet Kaur, and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana.

"Shabaash (excellent) girls, well done. Back to back wins - took six catches, and two run outs, well done. Two very good catches under pressure - Smriti, well done. 1 good catch, 1 direct hit - well done Harmanpreet. Deepti, excellent slip catch. Good low catch. One run out with very good game awareness, excellent Deepti," he said.

Harleen Deol's composed 46 off 65 balls and Richa Ghosh's spirited 20-ball 35 lifted India to a competitive 247 after being put into bat.

Pacer Kranti Gaud (3/20) dismantled Pakistan's top order while the spinners cleaned up the middle-order and tail, bundling them out for 159, despite a valiant effort from Sidra Amin (81 off 106 balls).
