In a rare occurrence of cricket and football crossing paths, former Indian cricketer and Andhra Pradesh Ranji team captain, Hanuma Vihari, tweeted his shocked reaction at the sacking of Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim. The English football club announced today that the former Portuguese international will be sacked with immediate effect.

After Manchester United's club statement surfaced online, many fans of the Red Devils took notice and reacted to the news in different ways. It seems Hanuma Vihari was one of those who were still kind of backing Amorim to shine at Man U 14 months after being appointed at the storied club. As the 32-year-old tweeted, "SACKED???? Wow."

The former Andhra Pradesh player has had a tumultuous last 2 years after his fallout with the Andhra Cricket Association on some personal as well as political grounds, following his removal from captaincy of the Andhra Pradesh Ranji Trophy team.

He now represents the Tripura state team at the senior-most level in domestic competitions.

But the United fan inside him couldn't believe that the club would sack the manager at sucha crucial stage in the season, especially since Man U are still in the running for the Top 6 despite all their struggles in the league. At the same time, it has to be said that the club was quite patient with Ruben Amorim.

This managerial change marks the 6th manager United have had since Ole Gunnar Solskjær was sacked in November 2021.
