Saad​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Masood of Pakistan A was full of emotions when he gave a farewell blow to Naman Dhir of India A in their Asia Cup Rising Stars match in Doha on Sunday. The moment happened after Masood got rid of Dhir on the fourth ball of the ninth over. Just one ball before that, Dhir had paddle-swept the leg-spinner for a boundary towards fine leg, but his next shot was a straight drive to extra cover, where Irfan Khan, the Pakistan A captain, took a simple catch.

An extremely angry Masood pointed to the dugout, indicating that Dhir should go back, but the Indian batter didn't show any reaction and returned to the pavilion ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌quietly.

Earlier in the day, Irfan Khan won the toss and opted to field at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium. Both teams entered the contest high on confidence after opening wins—India A defeating the UAE and Pakistan A beating Oman.

India A’s victory over the UAE was powered by 14-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who smashed the joint second-fastest T20 century by an Indian batter, reaching three figures in just 32 balls. His remarkable 144 off 42 balls, studded with 15 sixes and 11 fours, matched Rishabh Pant’s 32-ball hundred for Delhi in 2018. Captain Jitesh Sharma added a blistering 83 off 32 balls to carry India A to a massive 297/4 in 20 overs.

Suryavanshi, who debuted in the IPL last season, already owns the second-fastest century in the tournament’s history with a 35-ball hundred for Rajasthan Royals. The overall record for the fastest T20 century by an Indian is jointly held by Abhishek Sharma and Urvil Patel, both hammering 28-ball tons in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2024–25.
