NEW DELHI: Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, captains of India's ODI and Test teams respectively, have reported to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for their pre-season fitness tests on Saturday. They were joined by several teammates, including Mohammed Siraj, Jitesh Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Washington Sundar, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shardul Thakur.

While Gill and Bumrah are gearing up as part of India's Asia Cup squad, Rohit is utilising the camp to fine-tune his preparations for the upcoming white-ball series against Australia in October-November.

Speculation is mounting that Rohit, along with Virat Kohli, might turn out for India A in the three-match ODI series against Australia A, set to be played at Green Park in Kanpur on September 30, October 3, and October 5.

Gill was originally slated to feature in the Duleep Trophy but had to withdraw after being laid low by a viral fever. Siraj, meanwhile, has not been named in India's Asia Cup squad and was also left out of South Zone's Duleep Trophy lineup.

However, there is a possibility of him being drafted in as a late inclusion, which could explain his presence at the camp. Sundar finds himself in a similar position - absent from the initial South Zone squad but still a potential addition.

India's T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav has already completed his fitness test, along with all-rounder Hardik Pandya and spinner Kuldeep Yadav, The Indian Express reported.
