Rohit Sharma may be one of the most feared batters of his generation, but the 38-year-old continues to charm fans with his lighthearted personality off the field. In a video that has gone viral on social media, the former India captain was seen dancing to the iconic Bollywood song “Aaj Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai” (Today is my friend’s wedding) as a couple nearby posed for their wedding photoshoot.
Bride and groom stunned by Rohit Sharma’s heartwarming gesture
The couple appeared pleasantly surprised by Rohit’s spontaneous dance, with the bride exclaiming, “Yeh toh moment hai!” (This is a moment!). The groom responded with a smile and a respectful gesture towards the cricketer, clearly delighted by the unexpected interaction.
Currently, Rohit is not part of India’s ongoing assignments, with the team preparing for a two-Test series against South Africa—a format he has now retired from.
Recently, the veteran opener was named Player of the Series in India’s ODI series against Australia, smashing a century in the final game. His stellar run helped him reclaim the No. 1 spot in the ICC men’s ODI batting rankings, surpassing current India skipper Shubman Gill, who slipped to fourth. Virat Kohli also dropped to sixth in the updated rankings.
Rohit is expected to return to action later this month when India begin their ODI series against South Africa on November 30.
Meanwhile, in the IPL circuit, Rohit is likely to be retained by Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. He scored 418 runs in 15 matches last season, playing a key role in MI’s playoff qualification after a slow start.
In recent months, Rohit has also undergone a major physical transformation, reportedly shedding over 10 kilograms as part of his renewed fitness focus.
