NEW DELHI: India ODI captain Rohit Sharma, along with other players, successfully cleared the newly introduced bronco test at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, paving the way for his participation in the upcoming ODI series against Australia.
Questions were raised after the introduction of the bronco test, but Rohit not only cleared it with ease but also reportedly impressed everyone with his performance.
According to RevSportz, all the players who underwent the tests on August 30 and 31 cleared them successfully. The report further noted that Rohit's fitness levels and performance drew praise, while Prasidh Krishna stood out with particularly impressive numbers.
With no immediate assignments following his retirement from Tests and T20Is, Rohit is likely to travel to Australia for an ODI series in November. Before that, he could also feature for India A in the three one-day matches against Australia A in Kanpur on September 30, October 3, and October 5.
Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah, and Jitesh Sharma have also cleared the fitness parameters. Gill, the 25-year-old Punjab batter and India's vice-captain for the T20 tournament, was required to undergo the test after missing the Duleep Trophy - where he was set to lead North Zone - due to a fever that kept him resting at home for the past few days.
