Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have appointed former Tamil Nadu spinner Malolan Rangarajan as the new head coach of their women’s team ahead of the fourth season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in 2026.

Rangarajan replaces Australian coach Luke Williams, who will miss the upcoming WPL season due to his commitments with the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League.

“Malolan Rangarajan, a key member of the RCB support staff for the last six years in various roles, has now been appointed as head coach for the upcoming WPL cycle,” the franchise announced on their official X handle.

A familiar face within the setup, Rangarajan has been part of RCB’s WPL project since its inception and played a crucial role as assistant coach during the team’s title-winning campaign in 2024.

The 2026 WPL season will take place earlier than usual, scheduled from January to February, as India prepares to co-host the men’s T20 World Cup with Sri Lanka later in February-March.
