NEW DELHI: The talks between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals appear to have reached the final stages regarding a potential trade of Sanju Samson for Ravindra Jadeja. However, the deal has hit a roadblock, as the Royals are not satisfied with a straight swap and want an additional player alongside Jadeja in exchange for Samson, Cricbuzz reported.
A straight swap seemed possible since both Samson and Jadeja were retained by their respective franchises for Rs 18 crore. However, the Royals are also keen to include one more player in the deal - South African batter Dewald Brevis.
However, according to the report, the inclusion of Brevis could prove to be a deal-breaker, as he was never part of the original trade discussions. With that option off the table, the ball is now in the Royals' court to decide what or who they want as an additional component in the trade, apart from Jadeja.
CSK, however, remain firm on their stance of including only Jadeja in the trade, refusing to part with any other player. The suggestion of adding Brevis was dismissed early on, as the Super Kings' ownership and coaching group had long been eager to bring the 22-year-old into the Joburg Super Kings setup - before the Pretoria Capitals outbid them, securing Brevis for a hefty R16.5 million.
As the rumours continue to swirl, CSK shared a witty post on social media featuring CEO Kasi Viswanathan and mascot Leo, asking fans to stay patient until the official announcement is made.

In the video, Viswanathan poked fun at the trade rumors, joking that social media suggested he might be traded to Punjab Kings in exchange for Preity Zinta. The clip was set to a song from Rajinikanth's movie Vettaiyan, featuring a prominent verse in Malayalam.
The post concluded with a disclaimer, stating: "Trade rumours are subject to mental health risks. Wait till the official announcement for sanity."
