NEW DELHI: India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has joined Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant in confirming his availability for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which begins on Wednesday.

According to a report by The Times of India, a Saurashtra Cricket Association official has confirmed that Jadeja is set to feature in two Vijay Hazare Trophy matches for Saurashtra, scheduled on January 6 and 8.

Both fixtures will be held in Alur, Karnataka. The report further states that Saurashtra's squad may undergo changes if Jadeja earns selection for the upcoming India–New Zealand ODI series.

"Yes, he has confirmed to play these two games on January 6 and January 8. This is the plan for now," a senior SCA official told TOI.

Jadeja's participation in VHT is a part of his efforts to stay in contention for a spot in the Indian squad for the 2027 World Cup.

"He is very much in the plans. But there will be some competition for places. Of course, he was there in the Champions Trophy squad, because we took those extra spinners with the conditions there. At the moment, we could only carry one and get some balance in the team with Washi and Kuldeep there as well. And I don’t think we are going to need more than that in Australia," Agarkar had said after Jadeja was left out from Australia series.
