Aggressive chase sets the tone
Padikkal remained unbeaten on a stunning 120 off 85 deliveries, blending clean timing with calculated aggression. He struck six fours and five sixes, keeping the asking rate well within reach and never allowing Punjab’s bowlers to build pressure.
At the other end, Mayank Agarwal provided the ideal support, smashing 53 off just 36 balls. The duo added 117 runs in only 12.3 overs, a stand that virtually decided the contest.
Job finished with authority
After Agarwal’s dismissal, Padikkal continued to anchor the chase, finding another willing partner in Shreyas Gopal, who chipped in with a brisk 33. Karnataka reached the target in just 27.5 overs, with Padikkal batting through the innings to seal a memorable win and confirm their place in the knockouts.
