Cricket, they say, is a game of moments, and on the morning of Day 3 of the First Test in Ahmedabad, young Nitish Kumar Reddy produced a moment of jaw-dropping brilliance that instantly became the highlight of the match. His spectacular, full-stretch diving catch to dismiss Tagenarine Chanderpaul was a lightning bolt that gifted India a crucial early breakthrough in the West Indies' second innings.

The son of the legendary West Indian batter Shivnarine Chanderpaul was sent back to the pavilion for just 8 runs thanks to a spark of brilliance by Nitish Kumar Reddy.

The first two days of the Test had established a dominant position for Team India. Day 1 saw Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah tearing apart the Caribbean batting lineup and restricting them to 162. The next day saw 3 Indian batters race to their centuries with multiple records being broken.

Entering Day 3, the West Indies began their second innings trailing by 286, facing a near-impossible task of saving the Test. India's goal was clear: take ten wickets and enforce an innings defeat. while the Caribbean side just had to survive.

The pressure was being applied by the Indian fast bowlers with the new ball, and it was the very first hour of the day that brought the magic. The wicket-taking bowler was Mohammed Siraj, who had been India's most effective pacer in the match. In the eighth over of the innings, with the West Indies only managing 12 runs, Siraj pitched one short to Tagenarine Chanderpaul. The left-handed opener, looking to relieve the pressure, decided to go for the pull shot. However, he failed to keep the shot down, resulting in a fierce, rising top edge that flew towards the square-leg region.

Standing at short square-leg was Nitish Kumar Reddy. In a display of incredible athleticism and anticipation, Reddy reacted instantly. He launched himself to his left in a full-length dive, his body completely airborne and parallel to the pitch and safely grasped the ball that was travelling fast to complete a stunning catch.
