NEW DELHI: The Namibia senior women’s cricket team will tour Assam for a four-match white-ball friendly series, scheduled to begin on January 8.

The series forms part of a reciprocal international programme between the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) and Cricket Namibia, aimed at strengthening cricketing ties between the two regions.

During the tour, the Namibian side will face the Assam senior women’s team in two One-Day matches and two T20 fixtures, ACA secretary Sanatan Das confirmed on Friday.

“This international series is an important step for Assam cricket. It helps build stronger sporting relations between India and Namibia and offers players from both teams a valuable opportunity to showcase their skills, competitiveness, and the true spirit of the game,” Das said.

The Namibia women’s team is set to arrive in Assam on January 6.

The two One-Day matches along with the opening T20 will be played at the Mangaldai Stadium, while the final T20 encounter will take place at the ACA Cricket Academy Ground in Fulung, North Guwahati.

Notably, the Assam senior men’s team had toured Namibia last year as part of the ongoing exchange programme.
