NEW DELHI: In what will be good news for MS Dhoni fans, the former India captain will reportedly play one more season for Chennai Super Kings and take part in IPL 2026.

The former BCCI president N Srinivasan's return as CSK chairman led to Dhoni's decision to play another year, according to Revsportz. Dhoni and Srinivasan share a good bond with each other, which has been seen as a reason for Dhoni to push for one more season.

Questions about Dhoni's continuity in the IPL have flooded social media for over two years, and with Srinivasan back in the fold, the chances have brightened for the 44-year-old to give his fans one more opportunity to witness him in action.

It is worth noting that Dhoni returned to lead CSK in 2025 after Ruturaj Gaikwad's injury. However, the Men in Yellow endured their worst-ever campaign, finishing at the bottom of the table for the first time in franchise history.

This setback has only strengthened Dhoni's resolve to script a fitting farewell, as he eyes a sixth IPL crown - a milestone no other team has managed to achieve.

Neither CSK nor Dhoni himself has officially confirmed his participation for another season. For now, the former India captain is making the most of his time away from cricket, spending time in the USA.

Recently, he was seen at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York, watching Novak Djokovic in action during his quarterfinal clash.
