NEW DELHI: India bowling coach Morne Morkel has shared a positive update on Nitish Kumar Reddy's recovery after the all-rounder was ruled out of the first three T20Is against Australia due to neck spasms.
"Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out for the first three T20Is. The all-rounder, who was recovering from his left quadriceps injury sustained during the second ODI in Adelaide, complained of neck spasms, which has impacted his recovery and mobility. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring his progress," BCCI said ahead of the first T20I in Canberra on October 29.

When asked whether Reddy would be available for the fourth T20I against Australia in Carrara, Morkel said his fitness still needs to be assessed but added that the all-rounder has done all the hard work required.
"Yes, he did all his work that was needed or expected of him today, fielding, batting, bowling, and he ticked all of that. So we will find out now, after the assessment, where he is at," Morkel told mediapersons on Wednesday.
Morkel also spoke about the curious case of pacer Arshdeep Singh, who has not been a regular in the playing XI despite being India's highest wicket-taker in T20Is.
Arshdeep was adjudged player of the match on his comeback to the playing eleven in the third T20 International against Australia in Hobart.
"Arshdeep is experienced and he knows that we are looking at the bigger picture and trying out different combinations. He knows he is a world-class bowler and taken most wickets in the Powerplay," Morkel said.
"We know how valuable he is to the team and but we also needed to look at other combinations and he understands that," he added.
