NEW DELHI: India vice-captain Shubman Gill, who has been struggling for form, will miss the final two T20Is against South Africa due to a toe injury, sources told PTI.
The injury occurred during a training session, and the team management is taking all necessary steps to ensure a speedy recovery.
This comes after Axar Patel was earlier ruled out of the series, with Shahbaz Ahmed stepping in as his replacement.
Potential Replacement
Sanju Samson is likely to open the innings in Gill’s place, though the final decision on his replacement is yet to be confirmed.
India’s playing XI for the 4th T20I in Lucknow could include Samson and the existing middle-order stars, supported by experienced all-rounders and a balanced bowling attack, aiming to maintain momentum and challenge South Africa effectively.
