NEW DELHI: The handshake controversy, which erupted after Suryakumar Yadav-led India refused to shake hands with their Pakistan counterparts following the Asia Cup match, refuses to die down, with former Pakistan captain Mohammad Yousuf stooping to a new low by even abusing the Indian skipper.
"India are unable to get out of their filmy world. India should be ashamed of the way they are trying to win - using umpires, torturing (Pakistan) by way of match referee, it is a high note," said Yousuf on Samaa TV.

The Pakistan batter, who scored 17,300 runs in his international career, jokingly referred to Suryakumar as 'pig' during a discussion on a Pakistani TV channel. His remark even left the anchor of the show surprised who kept correcting him but Yousuf was not in a mood to give in and went ahead to use abusive word for Surya.
After facing massive backlash on social media, Yousuf issued a clarification online but targeted Indian media and people for lauding Irfan Pathan's remark on Shahid Afridi.
"I didn't mean any disrespect to any sportsman who plays for his country with passion and grace, but why were the Indian media and people praising Irfan Pathan when he said that Shahid Khan Afridi was barking like a dog? Shouldn’t that have been rejected by everyone who talks about dignity and respect?" he posted on X.

After the Asia Cup Group A match that India won by seven wickets, Suryakumar and his men did not exchange handshakes with their cross-border rivals as a mark of respect for the Pahalgam terror attack victims and their families.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had filed a complaint with the ICC alleging that match referee Andy Pycroft asked its captain Salman Ali Agha not to shake hands with Suryakumar at the time of toss in their Asia Cup match on Sunday.
They also demanded the removal of Pycroft from the panel of officials for the ongoing Asia Cup which was later turned down by ICC.
