NEW DELHI: Mitchell Starc has once again etched his name into Ashes history. The Australian left-arm speedster completed 100 wickets in Ashes during the first Test against England in Perth, becoming the first left-arm seamer ever to reach the milestone and just the 21st bowler overall.
But it's not just the number of wickets that impresses - it's the way he gets them. Starc's strike rate of 44.8 is the fastest among all 21 bowlers to reach 100 Ashes scalps, highlighting his ability to make an impact every time he steps onto the field.

England's decision to bat first backfired spectacularly as Starc tore through their top order in a fiery opening spell. On the very last ball of the first over, Starc had opener Zak Crawley caught behind by Usman Khawaja for a duck, immediately putting England on the back foot at 1/0.
The Australian veteran didn't stop there, quickly sending both Ben Duckett and Joe Root back to the pavilion for ducks, leaving England reeling at 3/39 and struggling to survive the opening onslaught.
Starc once again showcased why he is one of the most feared openers in Test cricket. He claimed his 24th wicket in the first over of an innings - the most by any bowler since his debut in 2011 - and marked the seventh time he has struck in the very first over of a Test match.

After a brisk 21 off 20 balls from Ben Duckett, Starc struck in his fourth over, trapping the England opener LBW for his second scalp of the innings. The Australian then continued his devastating assault, sending Joe Root back for a duck in the following over, with Marnus Labuschagne taking a sharp catch in the slips.
England's top order was left in tatters as Starc's relentless pace and accuracy set the tone for the innings.
Starc's dominance is especially evident in the opening overs of an innings. Since his debut, no bowler has struck as often in the first over. He has taken 24 wickets at a remarkable strike rate of 42.0, outpacing England's James Anderson, who has 19 wickets (SR 70.7), and West Indies' Kemar Roach, who has 10 (SR 52.8).
