With the Big Bash League’s player movement window now open until early February, attention has swiftly shifted to some of the biggest names on Australia’s domestic T20 market, and Brisbane Heat are eager to lock in one of their key assets.

Left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann has made it clear that his preference is to remain with the Heat, even as interest in his services grows across the league. Kuhnemann enjoyed a strong recent BBL campaign, thriving on the typically batter-friendly Gabba surface and claiming nine wickets at a healthy economy rate of 7.68.
The 27-year-old is contracted through next season and is in line for an extension, meaning he can only switch clubs via a trade or if Brisbane chooses to release him. Despite that, several teams are believed to be monitoring his situation closely, with the Hobart Hurricanes among those to have registered interest, attracted by his consistency and all-round value.
The opening of the movement window has also brought other high-profile players into focus. Wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis, fresh from a standout performance in the BBL 15 final, is expected to be one of the most sought-after names on the market. Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Renegades are reportedly preparing strong offers as they look to bolster their squads.
Meanwhile, veteran leg-spinner Adam Zampa appears set for a change after what is likely to be his final season with the Melbourne Renegades. Zampa is understood to be keen on a move closer to home, with Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder among the franchises showing interest as he considers his next BBL chapter.
