Family and Coach Honoured

Alongside Goud, her parents and coach were also recognised for their support. The felicitation took place at the CM's official residence in Bhopal, attended by numerous sportspersons and officials.

Goud recounted the historic victory in the final against South Africa at Navi Mumbai’s D Y Patil Stadium on November 2.

"Winning the World Cup was a very proud moment for all of us and the entire country. We had to win for India more than ourselves," she said.

She also spoke about her determination to overcome hardships.

"If you ever feel like giving up, think about your dreams. At times we only have one meal a day. Even then, I didn't give up," she said.

"Today, I have brought honour to my family and Bundelkhand. I am very happy."

Fitness, Yoga and Cash Reward

On staying fit, Goud emphasised dietary discipline and self-control. She also spoke about meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"I felt very relaxed after meeting him. The PM told us 'we have to stay in the present'. This inspired me a lot."

CM Yadav praised her efforts and highlighted the importance of fitness and yoga for athletes. He announced a cash reward of Rs 1 crore for Goud and appreciated PM Modi for promoting yoga worldwide.

Her coach Rajiv Birthare highlighted her hard work and resilience, noting how yoga helped maintain both mental and physical strength.

Future Felicitations and Facilities

Yadav also announced a second felicitation in Jabalpur on the birth anniversary of tribal icon Bhagwan Birsa Munda on November 15. On Goud’s request, the CM approved the construction of a cricket stadium in Chhatarpur.

"It's a very proud moment for me because he is always busy and has many responsibilities, yet he took out time for me and my family and honoured us," Goud said.

She was accorded a hero’s welcome on arrival at Khajuraho airport, greeted by local students and residents, before returning to her hometown.
