NEW DELHI: The injury scare left the Bangladesh camp worried ahead of their Asia Cup Super Four clash against India, as skipper Litton Das suffered a back strain during training at the ICC Academy Ground on Monday.
Litton experienced discomfort on the left side of his waist while attempting a square cut in the nets and left the session midway after being assessed by team physio Bayzid ul Islam.
"We will have a look at him (Litton) today because from outside he looks quite okay, but we need to conduct a medical assessment before making a final call," a BCB official told Cricbuzz on Tuesday.
While Litton did not seem to be in serious pain after the incident, his potential absence would be a significant setback for Bangladesh.
It is also uncertain who would take over the captaincy in his absence, as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has not named a deputy for the tournament. The team had started their Super Four campaign with a convincing victory over Sri Lanka.
