NEW DELHI: Jemimah Rodrigues could not have asked for a better occasion to bring up a maiden World Cup hundred, displaying a perfect blend of calm and aggression under immense pressure in the ICC Women's World Cup semifinal against Australia in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.
Jemimah's third ODI hundred came off 115 balls, anchoring India's chase after the dismissal of captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who had earlier played a sensational knock of 89 off 88 balls.

Interestingly, all three of Jemimah's ODI centuries have come in 2025 - the first against Ireland in January, the second versus South Africa in May, and now the most significant of them all, against Australia in the World Cup semifinal.
Her latest ton was a blend of precision and intent, laced with 10 boundaries and marked by smart running between the wickets. Together with captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah stitched a crucial 167-run partnership for the third wicket, steering India’s chase with maturity and flair.
This was only the second century by an Indian batter in a Women's World Cup semifinal or final, following Harmanpreet Kaur's iconic 171 in 2017.
It also marked just the second occasion in Women's World Cup knockout history where two individual hundreds were scored in the same match - the first being Alyssa Healy and Nat Sciver-Brunt’s twin tons in the 2022 final.
