Delhi suffered a narrow three-run defeat in the match, a result that saw them slip to fourth place on the WPL points table.

“Jemimah Rodrigues, captain of Delhi Capitals, has been fined after her team maintained a slow over-rate during their match against Gujarat Giants at the BCA Stadium, Vadodara,” the WPL said in an official statement.

“As this was her first offence of the season under the WPL Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Jemimah was fined INR 12 lakh,” the statement added.

Delhi Capitals currently have six points with a net run rate of -0.164 and remain locked in a tight race for a top-three finish and a place in the playoffs. They will face bottom-placed UP Warriorz in their next fixture on February 1.
