NEW DELHI: Chennai Super Kings have officially confirmed the blockbuster trade that brings Sanju Samson from Rajasthan Royals in exchange for Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran ahead of IPL 2026.

Jadeja's fee has been revised from Rs 18 crore to Rs 14 crore, while Samson will represent CSK at his existing league fee of Rs 18 crore.

Chennai Super Kings Managing Director, KS Viswanathan, said: "A transition in a team's journey is never easy. Trading out a player like Ravindra Jadeja, who has been an integral part of the franchise for more than a decade, and Sam Curran was one of the toughest decisions we have taken in the team's history.

"The decision was taken with mutual understanding with both Jadeja and Curran. We are deeply grateful for Jadeja's extraordinary contributions and the legacy he leaves behind. We wish both Jadeja and Curran the best for the future.

"We also welcome Sanju Samson, whose skill-set and achievements complement our ambitions. This decision has been made with great thought, respect, and a long-term vision."

Jadeja has been a pillar of the Chennai Super Kings setup since joining the franchise in 2012. Over the years, he became one of CSK's most influential performers, contributing to their title wins in 2018, 2021 and 2023. The star all-rounder leaves behind an impressive legacy with the Super Kings, having taken more than 150 wickets and scored over 2,300 runs for the team.

Sanju Samson arrives with a rich reservoir of IPL experience, boasting more than 4,500 runs in the league. A seasoned campaigner for over a decade, he has previously turned out for Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals. Samson captained the Royals for five seasons between 2021 and 2025, guiding them to the final in 2022.

Sam Curran, meanwhile, was part of CSK's championship-winning squad in 2021. The English all-rounder represented the franchise across the 2020, 2021 and 2025 seasons, playing 28 matches in yellow. During his time with the Super Kings, Curran scored 356 runs and claimed 23 wickets, leaving his mark as a valuable utility player.
