NEW DELHI: India's 2-0 series sweep of the West Indies did little to alter their World Test Championship (WTC) standings, as they remain in third place with four wins and two defeats from seven matches. Tuesday's win in the second Test marked India's third consecutive Test victory, taking them to 52 points in the WTC 2025–27 cycle.
India's points percentage (PCT) has risen from 55.56% to 61.90%, while Australia continue to lead the World Test Championship standings with a perfect 100%, followed by Sri Lanka on 66.67%.
The West Indies, meanwhile, have endured five consecutive defeats to start the 2025–27 WTC cycle, having earlier been whitewashed 0-3 by Australia at home.

Talking about the match, India wrapped up the second and final Test against the West Indies in just over an hour on Tuesday, cruising to a seven-wicket victory and sealing a 2-0 series sweep. The hosts, dominant throughout the series, faced only a brief scare towards the end.
The win not only reinforced India's supremacy at home but also marked Shubman Gill's first series triumph as Test captain.
Chasing a modest target of 121, KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 58 off 108 balls, while Dhruv Jurel supported him with 6 not out, steering India to victory in 35.2 overs on the final day. Rahul struck six fours and two sixes, forging a crucial 79-run partnership for the second wicket with Sai Sudharsan, who contributed 39 runs.
While the second Test dragged into the fifth morning -- largely because of the resistance from centurions John Campbell (115) and Shai Hope (103), and a dogged 10th-wicket stand -- the Feroz Shah Kotla track offered little assistance to spinners, remaining low and slow throughout.
