NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming U19 Asia Cup, starting in Dubai on December 12. Eighteen-year-old Ayush Mhatre will captain the side, with Vihaan Malhotra serving as his deputy.

Fourteen-year-old rising sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi has also been included in the squad. Vaibhav is currently representing Bihar in the ongoing 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT).

India and Pakistan in Group A

In the U19 Asia Cup, India has been placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, with the remaining two teams to be confirmed after the conclusion of the qualifying tournament.

A total of 14 teams - Bahrain, Hong Kong, Iran, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, and the UAE - are competing in the qualifiers. The two finalists and the third-placed team from this stage will earn a spot in the main tournament.
