NEW DELHI: India's luck with the toss under new captain Shubman Gill showed no signs of changing, as their winless streak continued in ODIs with yet another toss loss in the second ODI against Australia in Adelaide on Thursday.

India's struggle with the toss has been remarkable - in their last 17 ODIs, they haven't won once. The last time an Indian captain got to choose whether to bat or field was back in November 2023, during the World Cup semifinal in Mumbai against New Zealand.

Australia captain Mitchell Marsh opted to field first, likely keeping the recent history of the Adelaide Oval in mind.

The chasing team has dominated recent ODIs in Adelaide, winning six of the last eight matches, including the last three. However, India remain undefeated in their last five ODI outings at this venue.

India were unchanged, while Australia made three changes bringing in Alex Carey, Xavier Bartlett and Adam Zampa.
