After India won the Asia Cup by defeating bitter rivals Pakistan in a low-scoring thriller last night, the Indian contingent did not receive the trophy on the podium from Mohsin Naqvi, the ACC President, who is also a Pakistani minister and the Chairman of the PCB. Instead, they resiliently ignored him straight up, and later, when the dust settled, lifted an imaginary Asia Cup trophy. What ensued later in the night on Social Media was absolutely phenomenal from the Indian players.

A lot of members from the Indian Asia Cup squad posted images of themselves, not with the actual Asia Cup trophy in their hands, but an edited image of themselves with the Trophy emoji! This activity from Team India went viral, and the fans seemed to love this gesture.

Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian skipper, sharing an image of himself with last night's match winner Tilak Varma, wrote on X, "When the game is done, only the champions will be remembered and not the picture of a (trophy emoji)." The image, which was shared by both on Instagram in a collaborative post, featured the Indian middle-order duo with a trophy emoji between them, with the words "Asia Cup 2025" edited on it.

The opener pair and partners-in-crime, Shubman Gill and Player of the tournament Abhishek Sharma, too joined in on the trend, posting a collaborative post with the trophy emoji. While Hardik Pandya, the man who missed the final through injury, continued his tradition of posting a pic with the trophy in the middle of the pitch, this time, though, it was an emoji!

Varun Chakravarty did something unique compared to others; instead of posting a pic with the trophy emoji, he posted one with his morning cup of coffee from the bed of his hotel room!

A casual way to show off, and also a massive trend that has become in the world of sports, to post a pic the next day with the trophy that you had won the night before.
