After India won the Asia Cup final last night against Pakistan, a standoff ensued between the Indian contingent and Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board and President of the Asian Cricket Council.

After having made clear their intention not to participate in the trophy presentation if Mohsin Naqvi was going to be present, the PCB Chief still lingered around on the podium for a good 20 minutes. The Indian team, however, coolly and calmly waited just about 20-15 yards from the podium for the ACC Chairman to go away. But instead, an official took the trophy back into the dressing room, and it never got into the hands of the Indian players.

A few minutes later, Simon Doull, the on-ground broadcaster, made it clear that there would be no Asia Cup trophy presentation as Team India had strongly refused to receive any awards from Mohsin Naqvi. The PCB head, who is also a minister of Pakistan, has previously made some strong anti-India statements in Public. He was also the one behind the demand that ICC charge Suryakumar Yadav with a Level 4 offence for standing by the Indian Army and showing solidarity with victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.

But all of this couldn't stand in the way of team India celebrating what was a well-deserved Asia Cup tournament win in dramatic fashion over bitter rivals Pakistan.

Instead, once the dias had cleared and Mohsin Naqvi was nowhere to be seen, the Indian players took to the podium along with the coaching staff. Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian captain, approached the team holding an Imaginary Asia Cup trophy in his hands. He walked up to the team in the Rohit Sharma style and just as he reached his compatriots, he lifted the Imaginary trophy in the air with everyone else screaming in jubilation. Even the pyrotechnics in the background erupted, and there was confetti in the air.

This moment was captured and uploaded to Social Media in just a few hours. It displayed India's defiance in the face of those who challenge its pride.
