NEW DELHI: The Indian cricket team underwent a rigorous training session on Saturday morning, focusing on fielding before moving on to nets and batting drills, as they prepare for the first ODI against Australia in Perth on Sunday.

The BCCI shared a video on social media stating, "Focus on. High intensity from #TeamIndia as they get ready for the challenge Down Under."

In the video, Indian captain Shubman Gill was joined by batsmen Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Dhruv Jurel as they took part in batting practice.

Fast bowlers Harshit Rana, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, and Prasidh Krishna were also seen hitting the nets after completing their warm-up routines.

India's all-rounders - Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, and Nitish Kumar Reddy - along with spinner Kuldeep Yadav, engaged in a rigorous session featuring catching drills followed by intense net practice.

India are touring Australia for a series comprising three ODIs and five T20Is. The action begins with the 50-over matches on Sunday, followed by the second and third ODIs on October 23 and 25. The T20I leg of the tour is scheduled from October 29 to November 8.

This series also marks the return of two Indian heavyweights who will be seen in action for the first time in the Indian jersey since the ICC Champions Trophy Final earlier this year.
