ICC has ushered in nominees for Player of the Month, for both men's and women's categories. After the Asia Cup tournament, the nominations are in favour of the Champions’ side. Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav are in contention, along with Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett, have been nominated for Men’s Player of the month. While Smriti Mandhana from India, Sidra Fatima from Pakistan and Tazmin Britts from South Africa have been nominated for Women’s Player of the month.

The opening batsman, who bats left-handed, scored 314 runs in seven matches, with an average of 44.85 and an extraordinary strike-rate of 200, in the Asia Cup.
His aggressive style of batting was key to his team’s victories during the continental tournament, and he reached an all-time high rating points of 931 at the end of the Super Fours stage of the tournament to get the most all-time ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings rating points.

The left-arm wrist-spinner was the highest wicket-taker in the Asia Cup with 17 wickets in seven T20Is at an average of 9.29 and an economy rate of 6.27. The crowning moment of his campaign was when he took four for 30 in the final against Pakistan and had also taken four wickets in the league match against the United Arab Emirates.

The 21-year-old top-order batter aggregated 497 runs over nine T20I matches, averaging 55.22, with a meteoric strike rate of 165.66. He had been the leading run-scorer during the T20I series against Sri Lanka and Namibia before adding the 72, 65 and 111 scores in his first three innings in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Africa Qualifier.

Smriti Mandhana maintained her exceptional performance in ODIs for the calendar year, receiving the Player of the Series honour against Australia in September, despite the Aussies prevailing over India in the three-match series. The left-hander accumulated 308 runs in four ODIs in September at an average of 77 and a strike rate of 135.68.
Her innings of 58, 117 and 125 against Australia showed her class. India lost the first match, but her century in the next match helped India level the series, as India won against Australia at home for the first time since 2007. India lost the third match, but her century in 50 balls was a record - the fastest by an Indian in women's ODIs, and the second fastest in all women's ODIs, behind Australia's Meg Lanning.

Pakistani opener Sidra Amin has delivered a masterclass performance in the ODI series against South Africa. She emerged as the top scorer in the series with 293 runs.
Amin laid down the tone with a match-winning 121 during the first ODI and an even better 122 to demonstrate her consistency and composure at the crease. Despite Pakistan losing both the first two matches, Amin continued to fight for her team.
In the last match, Amin yet again came good with a match-winning unbeaten fifty to guide Pakistan to a consolation win and complete a perfect day in breaking South Africa’s winning run.

Brits was named as the Player of the Series against Pakistan, leading her team to a victory of 2-1 over Pakistan. The powerful right-handed batter amassed 272 runs in two innings at a strike rate of 103.81, earning the Player of the Series award.
