Day 6 of the Blind Women’s T20 World Cup and Cricket for the Blind delivered one of the most anticipated clashes of the tournament as arch-rivals India and Pakistan collided in a high-voltage Match 10 at the BOI Grounds, Colombo. India arrived unbeaten after four commanding victories, already securing their semifinal spot with clinical consistency. Pakistan, playing only their second match but riding high after a massive 200-run win over Sri Lanka, entered full of belief. With rivalry, form, and stakes all peaking, the fixture gripped global attention.
Pakistan posted 135/8, a total held together almost single-handedly by a superb 66 off 57 balls from B3 Mehreen Ali. Her composure proved vital after India’s disciplined bowling and sharp fielding reduced Pakistan to 23/4 inside six overs. Esha Faisal added 6 before Bushra Ashraf revived the innings with a determined 44 off 38 balls. However, India’s relentless fielding resulting in seven run-outs, kept Pakistan under constant pressure. Their score was further boosted by 15 extras.

India’s fielding fire and batting dominance seal another emphatic win
India’s bowlers remained sharp from start to finish. Phula Saren delivered key breakthroughs, Anu Kumari controlled the middle overs, and Ganga Kadam choked the scoring with disciplined spells. But it was India’s exceptional fielding quick reflexes, precise throws, and flawless decision-making that repeatedly stalled Pakistan’s progress and dictated the momentum of the innings.
Chasing 136, India approached the target with explosive confidence. Skipper Deepika TC smashed 45 off just 21 balls at a blistering strike rate of 214.29, setting the tone before a sharp run-out ended her knock. Anekha Devi then took full command with a magnificent unbeaten 64 off 34 balls, blending power with finesse to maintain India’s dominance. Pakistan’s bowlers tried variations but never managed to stem the flow as India cruised home with ease, aided by 12 extras.
Anekha Devi earned the Player of the Match award for her authoritative, match-winning innings.
The league stage intensifies on Monday as Sri Lanka face Australia in another crucial clash that will shape the semifinal race.
