India vs Oman Live Score, Asia Cup 2025: India opt to bat against Oman
The Suryakumar Yadav-led India will ideally prefer to bat first and make full use of the 20 overs when they take on an embattled Oman in their final Asia Cup group league game that will be played in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

Captains at the toss
"We are looking to bat first. We have not batted first in this competition and we want to know our depth. Having game time is important going into the Super 4s. We want to continue the good habits we are doing in the first two games and want to continue to do that. It is looking nice and our openers will assess it further. We have two changes - Harshit comes in, one more guy comes in, I have become like Rohit (laughs)," Surya said after winning the toss.
"I would have batted first. It is a great experience to take from here. Our team is young, lack exposure but this gives them a good chance to come here and test themselves. It is a great opportunity to share the field with India and get a look at their mindset. We have two changes," Oman captain Jatinder Singh said.

Super Four line-up
The Super Four line-up is now confirmed, and except for Afghanistan missing out, it looks much as expected. Pakistan had a complicated path to qualify, while Sri Lanka made it through smoothly. India, unbeaten with two wins so far, look set to follow Sri Lanka’s example. The Super Four stage begins on Saturday, with Sri Lanka facing Bangladesh in Dubai.
What Kuldeep said ahead of the match
"If I play in any team, I will play as a bowler. My job is to take wickets. If I don't take wickets, there will be no space" - Kuldeep Yadav
Stat Attack!
* This match marks the first-ever meeting between India and Oman in any format.
* Abhishek Sharma currently boasts the highest strike rate (195.40) among batters with at least 500 T20I runs.
* On the bowling front, Arshdeep Singh remains India's leading wicket-taker in T20Is with 99 scalps in 63 matches. If he doesn't get a game this tournament, Hardik Pandya (95) and Jasprit Bumrah (92) could close in on - or even overtake - his tally.
India's only fixture in Abu Dhabi
The only unknown factor will be the track at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, where India will play their only game of this tournament. In any case, the Indian team does a mandatory three-hour net session on training days and a four-hour bus journey (two on either side) would have certainly exhausted the players.
Therefore, they have opted for the 'in and out' policy wherein they travel on match day, play the game and return at night before taking an entire Saturday off ahead of playing Pakistan on Sunday.
All in readiness
Historic occasion for Oman
For Oman, the contest marks a historic milestone - their first-ever match against India in any format. While the stakes are low and they come into the game on the back of two heavy defeats, the occasion itself will be one to remember. Facing the reigning world champions is always a daunting challenge, but with little to lose, Oman can approach the game with freedom and test themselves against the very best.
Will Arshdeep get his first game?
Head coach Gautam Gambhir is unlikely to tinker much with the playing XI, though he may consider giving Jasprit Bumrah a breather before the Super 4s - if Bumrah himself agrees.
With just four overs to bowl and plenty of rest after the Pakistan game, Bumrah might not feel the need for a break, but given his value as the team's "jewel in the crown," the management may still err on the side of caution.
That could also open the door for Arshdeep Singh, who has been sidelined so far with the team management favouring multi-skilled players and batting depth up to No. 8.
Middle order eye time
Abhishek Sharma has provided a couple of fiery starts, but Shubman Gill will be keen to spend more time in the middle. Captain Suryakumar looked in good touch against Pakistan, though he’ll hope Tilak Varma gets more batting time as well.
Ideally, the middle order of Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and Axar Patel would also like some solid time out in the middle before the tournament enters its crunch phase - with as many as four matches lined up in just seven days if India reach the final.
A dead rubber for India
Hello and welcome to the live coverage of India's final Asia Cup group-stage match against Oman at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. With Super 4 qualification already secured, India will look to use this game as an opportunity to give their bowlers valuable match time and their middle-order batters some time at the crease.
India's dominant wins over the UAE and Pakistan have left half the squad untested - four players are yet to feature in a game, while three of the top eight have played both matches without facing a single ball.
