NEW DELHI: Former India batter Mohammad Kaif's remarks on Jasprit Bumrah's workload management did not sit well with the pacer, who promptly rubbished the claims. Bumrah took to X to slam Kaif for sharing 'inaccurate' facts.
Kaif questioned Bumrah's deployment in T20Is under Suryakumar Yadav, noting that the pacer bowled three overs with the new ball, leaving just one over for the next 14 overs - scenario he felt was a huge relief for opposition batters.
"Bumrah under Rohit would generally bowl overs 1, 13, 17, 19. Under Surya, in Asia Cup, he bowled a three-overs spell at the start. To avoid injury, Bumrah these days, prefers to bowl while his body is warmed up. 1 over of Bumrah in the remaining 14 overs is a huge relief for batters, against stronger teams at World Cup, this could hurt India," Kaif wrote on X.
Bumrah hit back at Kaif's post with a pointed reply, dismissing the claims outright. "Inaccurate before inaccurate again," he wrote.

Selectors brushed aside Kaif's concerns by backing Bumrah fully, naming him in India's squad for the upcoming two-Test home series against the West Indies, starting October 2 in Ahmedabad.
Chairman of Selectors Ajit Agarkar was clear that the pacer is well-rested and good to go in the series.
"This is a team for both the Test matches. So, he's available for both. We've had a fair break after England. He didn't play the fifth Test either. There's been a month or five weeks of break," he said.
"This tournament (the ongoing Asia Cup here where Bumrah is playing) has been fairly spaced out till this last week. He's ready and keen to play both Test matches," Agarkar explained.
