NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli’s recent ODI form has once again captured the attention of the cricketing world, with many seeing clear signs of peak Kohli returning at the crease.
His resurgence has not only thrilled fans but has also drawn strong reactions from former cricketers.
Among them is Navjot Singh Sidhu, who took to Instagram to express his admiration and made an emotional appeal for Kohli’s return to Test cricket.

Sidhu, known for his expressive style, praised Kohli’s fitness and hunger, suggesting that Indian cricket would greatly benefit if he reversed his decision.
“If God granted me a wish I’d say bring Kohli out of his retirement & make him play Test Cricket …. Nothing would give more joy and ecstasy to a country of 1.5 billion ! His fitness is that of a twenty year old - he himself 24 carat gold”
Kohli retired from Test cricket earlier this year after enduring a prolonged lean patch with the bat. The decision marked the end of a storied red ball career, but his recent white ball exploits have reignited calls for a comeback from fans and former players alike.
The 35 year old has been in the form of his life again in limited overs cricket. After registering two ducks in Australia, Kohli bounced back strongly in the ODI format and has looked unstoppable since.
In his last five ODI innings, Kohli has scored three centuries and two half centuries, underlining that he still has plenty left in the tank. During the South Africa ODI series, he amassed 302 runs in three matches, including two hundreds and an unbeaten fifty.
Kohli has also carried that momentum into domestic cricket. Representing Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he struck a century and followed it up with a half century, further strengthening the case of those hoping to see him back in whites.
