NEW DELHI: Sahibzada Farhan smashed a career-best unbeaten 80 off 45 balls as Pakistan overwhelmed a struggling Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the third match of the T20 tri-series in Rawalpindi on Saturday.
Sri Lanka, which lost their opening game against Zimbabwe by 67 runs after getting bowled out for 95, got limited to 128/7 after captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and elected to bat.
His explosive innings, which included five sixes and six boundaries, powered Pakistan to a second consecutive win, with the hosts chasing down 131 in just 15.3 overs to finish at 131/3.

Farhan put together a 69-run partnership with Babar Azam for the second wicket, but the former Pakistan captain played a supporting role, struggling to rotate the strike and managing just 16 off 22 balls.
When asked about Babar's struggle to rotate the strike and whether he had any advice to help him regain his confidence, Farhan said he is a world-class batter and doesn't need advice from someone like him.
"Mujhe khud strike rotation ka buhut masla ho raha tha last 2-3 matches se, toh main Babar bhai ko kya samjhao ga," (I myself have been struggling a lot with strike rotation in the last 2–3 matches, so what advice can I give to Babar bhai) Farhan said.
Farhan also became the first Pakistani batter to hit 100 sixes in a calendar year in T20s, and the 12th overall, during the tri-nation T20I series match against Sri Lanka.
His tally now stands at 102 sixes in the shortest format this year, with only Australia’s Karanbir Singh (122) and West Indies’ Nicholas Pooran (103) having hit more.
