Gujarat's hunt for a finisher to complete the puzzle
To be honest, the Gujarat Titans look pretty well-stacked in almost every department. With Shubman Gill at the top, a world-class spinner in Rashid Khan, and a pace attack led by Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj, the starting XI is frightening. However, the trade of Sherfane Rutherford to MI and the release of Mahipal Lomror have created a clear vacancy in the lower middle order.
They are missing a designated finisher, someone who can walk in during the death overs and start hitting boundaries immediately. The management knows this is the only real gap they need to plug. With INR 12.90 crore in the bank, they have the funds to make one standout signing. They can afford to go all-in for a quality overseas finisher or a hard-hitting all-rounder.
Once they secure that big name, they can simply shift their focus to acquiring cheap backups for the rest of the slots. If they find that one player, GT will be a complete package.
