NEW DELHI: Team head coach Gautam Gambhir was spotted at the final of the Delhi Premier League at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, marking his first public appearance since the conclusion of the India-England Test series.

Gambhir revealed that he has been away from cricket in recent weeks but expressed his delight at being part of the DPL final. He also praised Delhi cricket for organising such a brilliant tournament that provides new talent with a platform to shine.

"I've been at home and I haven't watched a lot of cricket, but it's a great platform for a lot of these boys who can showcase their talent. And DPL is a fantastic job. They've done a great job of giving such a platform to so many players who can showcase their talent," Gambhir said while speaking to the broadcaster.

"I think there will never be a shortage of talent in Delhi, because a lot of kids go and will play cricket, and obviously, the local competitions are really tough. And I believe, Delhi has so much to offer, not only for Delhi cricket, but a lot for India cricket as well. And hopefully these boys will keep showcasing their talent."

In a different segment, Gambhir took part in a rapid-fire round where he was asked to associate specific words or terms with the first cricketer that came to his mind. During the session, he mentioned names like Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, and Jasprit Bumrah.
