Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been the two pillars of Indian cricket over the last 10-15 years, but unfortunately, they are in the middle of the twilight phase of their careers. Both batting legends have taken a step back from cricket, retiring from two formats of the game, and now only play the 50-over format. This has led to their appearance with the Indian team being a scarce situation.

The last time Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma featured for India was all the way back in March of this year, over 7 months ago in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Final, in which they led India to victory. Since then, the star duo participated in the IPL for their respective franchises with Virat Kohli going to lift the trophy with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, ending their 18-year drought for IPL silverware.

However, since then, they have been leading relatively peaceful lives with their families, while maintaining their physical fitness in preparation for when the time comes to don the tricolour again.

And now, the time has come. With Team India touring Australia for a 3-match ODI series, followed by a T20I series and a Test series, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are back with the Indian squad. While Rohit Sharma will no longer be the captain of the team, as that responsibility now lies with Shubman Gill, it doesn't take away from the fact that the two star players will play an important role against the Aussies.

BCCI recently posted a video on social media captioned, "𝙀𝙣 𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙚 𝘿𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙐𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 Of familiar faces and special reunions as #TeamIndia depart for the Australia challenge."

A fan was quick to point out a particular frame of the said video, where Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli can be seen sharing a hug with each other and shared that pic with the caption, "Frame of the Day". The two friends' reunion has brought back a lot of emotions for their millions of fans.

As one fan wrote, "This is most beautiful moment I've seen today." Another fan wrote that the duo is going to rule in this series, while another raised concerns over what if one of the two announces retirement in this series, tweeting, "Something's wrong, someone is going to retire"
