Seifert stands out in record partnership
In the 100-run partnership Tim Seifert was the standout contributor. He smashed 55 off just 27 deliveries and played the attacking role throughout the stand. Devon Conway supported him well with a fluent 44 off 23 balls as the duo reached the 100-run mark in just 50 balls.
Their fearless approach completely put India under pressure during the powerplay phase.
Kuldeep breaks the stand
However, the party got over soon after the century partnership as Devon Conway fell to Kuldeep Yadav. It was a flighted delivery outside the off stump when Conway tried to loft the ball over the covers region.
He mistimed the shot and the ball went high up in the air before a simple catch was taken to end the dangerous opening stand and give India a much-needed breakthrough.
