NEW DELHI: A video showing a cricket match being played amid dense fog in Delhi has gone viral on social media, leaving fans both amused and concerned. The clip captures players struggling with near-zero visibility as the thick smog blankets the ground, making it difficult to spot the ball even from close range.

While some users found the visuals surreal and joked about the unusual conditions, others raised serious questions about player safety and the worsening air quality in the national capital, turning the video into a talking point online.

Poor air quality persists

The thick smog and fog have further aggravated pollution in the capital, intensifying health concerns for residents.

Although a few monitoring stations recorded a marginal improvement from the hazardous levels seen over the weekend, the city's overall air quality index continues to remain firmly in the 'severe' category.

Major flight disruptions continue

Fog-induced disruptions at Indira Gandhi International Airport continued for a second straight day, with low visibility leading to delays for more than 500 flights and the cancellation of over 130 services.

Airlines have cautioned passengers about potential further delays and urged them to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
