NEW DELHI: Pakistan players erupted in celebrations after sealing their record sixth Hong Kong Sixes title with a comfortable 43-run victory over Kuwait. They took a lap of honour, waving to the cheering crowd and basking in the applause after reclaiming their dominance in the tournament, which they had last won in 2011.

But it seems they are unwilling to give up their habit of taking digs at Indian players, as was evident during the Asia Cup when Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan made provocative gestures.

Muhammad Shahzad sparked a buzz on social media with his veiled dig at India's skipper Dinesh Karthik after the final.

"Fun start to Hong Kong Sixes. Winning against Pak," Karthik had posted on social media after registering a narrow two-run victory (DLS) over Pakistan in their opening match of the tournament.

After the final, Shahzad couldn't resist taking a cheeky swipe at Karthik. Sharing photos of himself holding the trophy, he responded to Karthik's earlier post with a pointed caption that read, "Fun end to the Hong Kong Sixes. Business as usual."

Shahzad also imitated Hardik Pandya's iconic trophy pose - the one the star India all-rounder struck after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 title.

Shahzad, a fast-bowling all-rounder, recreated Pandya's iconic celebration by placing the trophy on the ground and striking the trademark shoulder-shrug pose. The photo, which he shared on social media, quickly went viral and drew widespread attention.

Shahzad played a pivotal role in Pakistan's triumph, finishing as the team's leading wicket-taker with seven scalps during their title run. However, the meaning behind his celebration remains ambiguous - whether it was a gesture of admiration for one of Asia's finest seam-bowling all-rounders or a subtle nod to the recent on-field and off-field exchanges between the two nations.
