Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the name has been coming up in multiple headlines, several times, because of the 15-year-old starry performances recently, for which he was called by the U-19 team, where he also went on to break records. Thereafter, Zubin Barucha, the Rajasthan Royals’ Director of High Performance, has asked Ajit Agarkar to consider Vaibhav Suryavanshi for the senior team, citing his talent and performances. He also gave an example of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who debuted for India at merely 16, against Pakistan in 1989.

Suryavanshi’s rise has been tremendously meteoric, considering his IPL performance with 252 runs in 7 matches, at an average of 36.00.
He scored the fastest-ever century by an Indian in IPL history, 100 off just 35 balls against Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans. Earlier this year, he also scored the fastest century in youth ODIs, knocking a hundred against England at Worcester. He made his first-class debut at age 12 and came under the radar of National selectors after scoring a century against Australia U19 in a Youth Test match. This led to him getting an IPL contract, worth INR 1.10 crore.
Barucha is confident Suryavanshi is ready for the next step. “He should be blooded into the senior team immediately, like Sachin was. At least send him on an India A tour. This Australian attack, bowling to India A players, he would have scored a double hundred,” he told Times of India.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi's fearless approach against bowlers
Bharucha recalled how Suryavanshi bowled against Joffra Archer, the English pacer, who is also known for his intimidating net sessions.“Vaibhav hit one shot off the back foot that went out of the stadium. Everyone, including Jofra, was stunned,” Bharucha said. He has mentioned that Suryavanshi’s technique and temperament are exceptional, suggesting that the teenager could have easily scored a double century if given the opportunity against the Australian attack currently in India.

Bharucha is all in support of this 14-year-old batter to give him more exposure. As Suryavanshi has already been making records in IPL, first-class cricket, and youth ODIs, he is all set to become the next big cricket sensation.
