NEW DELHI: An emotional Jemimah Rodrigues dedicated her match-winning century to faith, family, and teammates after guiding India to a historic victory over Australia in the ICC Women's World Cup semifinal on Thursday. Her unbeaten 127 powered India to a record chase of 339, taking them to their third World Cup final - but for Jemimah, the moment went far beyond cricket. I want to thank my mom, dad, coach, and every single person who believed in me. It's been really hard this last month. It feels like a dream; it still hasn't sunk in." Recalling the moments before she went out to bat, Jemimah revealed how unexpected her promotion in the order was. "I didn't even know I was batting at three. I was taking a shower and told them to just let me know. Five minutes before walking in, I was told I was batting at three," she said with a smile. But once in the middle, her only focus was on winning for India. "It wasn't about my fifty or my hundred - it was about making India win. We've lost crunch matches before, and today I wanted to take this through," she said. 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞. 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬. "I have almost cried every day on this tour. I wasn't doing well mentally, going through anxiety. I knew I had to show up, and God took care of everything," she admitted. The 25-year-old said she drew strength from her faith during the tense chase. "Towards the end, I kept quoting a scripture from the Bible - 'Stand still and God will fight for you.' I just stood there, and He fought for me." She also credited her teammates for constant encouragement. "When Harry di (Harmanpreet) came, it was all about one good partnership. Towards the end, I was exhausted, but Deepti spoke to me every ball and kept me going. When I couldn't carry on, my teammates carried me," she said. Jemimah humbly added, "I can't take credit for anything - I didn't do it alone." As the crowd at DY Patil Stadium roared with every run, Jemimah felt their energy pushing her forward. "Each and every fan who chanted, cheered, and believed - that pumped me up. For every run, they were cheering, and that made me fight harder," she said, smiling through tears after one of the most defining innings of her career.
