NEW DELHI: Inside the Indian dressing room, the celebrations continued even after the India vs New Zealand T20I series had wrapped up. The BCCI shared a video capturing a special moment as Arshdeep Singh was honoured for his outstanding performance with the ball.

The left-arm pacer, who played a key role throughout the series, was presented with the Impact Player medal in recognition of his consistent impact across matches.

Medal presentation inside dressing room

The ceremony was led by Training Assistant Udeneka Nuwan, who addressed the team before handing over the medal. As Arshdeep stood alongside him, the dressing room erupted in applause, underlining the value of his contribution.

Nuwan went on to explain the significance of the medal and why Arshdeep was the clear choice. He highlighted how the award is meant for a player who leaves a mark every time he steps onto the field.

“Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to give this prestige medal. The medal goes to someone who put big impact every game he played and it also goes to Mr Arshdeep Singh,” he said, before hanging the medal around the pacer’s neck.

Arshdeep and Nuwan then posed for photographs as teammates clapped and cheered in the background.

Arshdeep thanks fans

After receiving the medal, Arshdeep expressed his gratitude and made a special mention of the fans who continue to back the team.

“Thank you so much,” Arshdeep said, before adding, “The crowd should enjoy, keep loving and supporting us. We will give you more moments to enjoy.”

A series to remember

Arshdeep Singh finished the T20I series against New Zealand with eight wickets in four matches at an impressive average of 21. His standout performance came in the final T20I, where he claimed a five-wicket haul to seal India’s dominant win.

Known for his ability to swing the new ball and deliver pinpoint yorkers at the death, Arshdeep has been a vital part of India’s T20I setup for a long time now. With the T20 World Cup on the horizon, the left-armer remains a key asset for India and a bowler the team will heavily rely on in crunch moments.
