India has won the Asia Cup 2025 against arch-rivals Pakistan! For the first time in 41 years, the two Asian powerhouses met in the Asia Cup Final, and it was the Men in Blue who emerged victorious.

The match, however, didn't go as many had predicted it would. India had to really dig deep in the end to win the low-scoring thriller. After a humongous start by the Pakistani openers, India's soin department managed to restrict Pakistan to a total of 146. The Indians came out to bat with momentum on their side; however, a top-order collapse occurred. Something that no one saw coming.

The in-form Abhishek Sharma, the man who etched his name in history by becoming the highest run-getter in a single edition of the Asia Cup T20Is, got out for 5. The Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav continued his poor form in T20Is in 2025 and didn't trouble the scorers much, holing out to his Pakistani counterpart Salman Ali Agha off Shaheen Shah Afridi. Shubman Gill too got out cheaply, and suddenly India were struggling at 20/3.

What followed was a Virat Kohli-esque carry job by Tilak Varma, who managed to stitch up valuable partnerships with Sanju Samson and then Shivam Dube. The left-hander reached his half-century in 41 deliveries and finished his innings on a score of 69 off 53 balls. Rinku Singh, who was Hardik Pandya's replacement in the Asia Cup final, on the first ball and only ball he played in the tournament and scored a boundary to win India the match!

What followed was a celebration full of emotions. Rinku Singh ran around the field with his bat held high before bumping into Tilak Varma and fist-bumping him. The latter had already taken off his helmet and was screaming in jubilation as the Indian coaching staff ran into the field of play. The Pakistani players looked distraught with a look of disbelief on their faces.
