At one point, the Men in Green were cruising in the first innings of the Asia Cup final against India. At the end of the first 12.4 overs, they were well poised at 113/1, having just lost only their 1st wicket, that being the dangerous Sahibzada Farhan.

What followed wasn't what the cricketing world expected. After a blistering start thanks to Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman, Pakistan crumbled in the late middle overs and collapsed from 113/1 to end the innings on a meagre total of 146/10.

Out of the 10 wickets that India picked up today, 8 went to the Indian spin trio of Varun Chakravarty, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel. The other two were Bumrah cleaning up the Pakistani tail. The performance in the last 7-8 overs was so poor that it prompted one of the commentators in the Sony Sports Network team to label it as the most horrific performance in all the years of watching cricket.

The newly top-ranked T20I bowler, Varun Chakravarty, opened his account by dismissing the in-form Sahibzada Farhan, who got his half-century just a few deliveries before. But Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman held on for another 3 overs or so before Kuldeep Yadav took the ball in his hand. He dismissed Ayub and kick-started the Domino effect in the 13th over.

Axar Patel dismissed Mohammad Haris in the next over for a duck, and then Varun Chakravarty picked up his second on the night in the 15th over, sending Fakhar Zaman back to the pavilion, and in doing so, he scalped both Pakistani openers on the night.

Axar Patel took his second in the 16th over with Sanju Samson catching Hussain Talat behind the stumps. Then came the 17th over. Kuldeep with the ball showed pure artistry, picking up not one, not two, but three wickets. In doing so, India had now picked up 7 wickets for just 21 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah wasn't missing out on the wickets as he too came in to bowl and cleaned up Pakistan for 146. After an initial scare by the openers, India had the last laugh as the Indian contingent walked back to the dugout with smiles painted across their faces. Yet another day, yet another show of domination by India's spin department.
