NEW DELHI: The stage is set for the Asia Cup 2025, with all eight participating teams fully prepared for the challenge. This will be the 17th edition of the tournament, scheduled to run from September 9 to September 28. The tournament will be played in the T20I format and will serve as key preparation for the teams ahead of next year's T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
How much will the winner take home?
According to the reports, the champion of the Asia Cup 2025 final will receive a prize money of Rs 2.6 crore. The runner-up will bag Rs 1.3 crore. On the individual front, the Player of the Series will be awarded USD 15,000 (approx. Rs 12.5 lakh), while the Player of the Match in the final will earn USD 5,000 (approx Rs 4.1 lakh). The Smart Catch of the Match award will carry a prize of USD 3,000 (approx. Rs 2.5 lakh).
The tournament will feature 8 teams, divided into two groups. Group A includes India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman, while Group B comprises Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. All matches of the Asia Cup 2025 will be played in the UAE, starting at 8 PM local time.
India will open their campaign against the UAE on September 10 in Dubai, before locking horns with arch-rivals Pakistan in a much-anticipated clash on September 14 at the same venue. Their final group-stage fixture is set for September 19 in Abu Dhabi, where they will face Oman.
