On Sunday, India came back strongly to beat Australia and level the series 2-2 in the third T20 International and the breakthrough part of the innings, alongside the composed finishing, was Arshdeep Singh's fiery new ball spell and his calm and calculated approach at the death. The left-arm fast bowler who got the Player of the Match award attributed his magnificent display to a clear mind and well-disciplined training.
‘Clarity and simplicity are key’: Arshdeep Singh on his bowling approach

Reflecting on his match-winning spell of 3 for 35, Arshdeep said his focus has been on staying consistent and trusting his preparation.
“I've just been working on my process, trusting my skills, and executing the plans I’ve practised,” he said. “It feels great to contribute when I get the chance. When someone like Bumrah is bowling from the other end, batters often take more risks against me, and that gives me wicket-taking opportunities. I just try to enjoy my bowling and keep things simple — whether it’s the powerplay or the death overs.”
India captain Suryakumar Yadav lauded his team’s all-round display, calling the Bumrah-Arshdeep duo a “lethal combination” and applauding the new players for stepping up.
“It was really important to win the toss. Good to break the streak and be on the winning side,” Suryakumar said. “Washy (Washington Sundar) is a flexible batter, and both Bumrah and Arshdeep bowled superbly. Shubman and Abhishek are fire and ice; same for Bumrah and Arshdeep.”
Australia, batting first, posted 186 for 6 with solid contributions from Tim David and Marcus Stoinis, but skipper Mitchell Marsh admitted they were “probably 20 runs short.”
“Credit to India — they bowled really well. We gave it our best in the field, but they deserved the win. Tim David’s intent and Stoinis’s composure were positives, but one or two overs made the difference,” Marsh said.
He also revealed that Glenn Maxwell was close to returning but wasn’t fully fit.
“He was close to playing today, but not quite ready. Hopefully he’ll be fit for Thursday; he’s such an experienced T20 campaigner.”
The series now moves to the Gold Coast for the fourth T20I on Thursday.
