NEW DELHI: With Indian women cricketers riding waves of accolades and recognition following their historic World Cup triumph, spin stalwart Shree Charani was felicitated by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for her crucial role in India’s maiden 50-over title win.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office announced a generous reward for Charani, including Rs 2.5 crore in cash, a 1,000 sq. yard house site, and a Group-I government job, recognizing her exemplary performance. Minister for HRD, IT, and Communications Nara Lokesh also congratulated her for her pivotal role in India’s success.

Charani’s performance in the tournament was remarkable. Across nine matches, she picked up 14 wickets while maintaining an economy rate of less than 5, showcasing her consistency and control.
