NEW DELHI: Puducherry captain Aman Khan found himself on the wrong side of the record books after being taken to the cleaners by Jharkhand batters during their Vijay Hazare Trophy match in Ahmedabad on Monday. The right-arm medium pacer conceded 123 runs from his 10 overs, becoming the bowler with the most expensive spell in List A cricket history.

The previous record for the most expensive spell in men's List A cricket was held by Arunachal Pradesh pacer Mibom Mosu, who had conceded 116 runs in nine overs against Bihar earlier this month, also during the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

That match had grabbed headlines for a different reason too, as Bihar's Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history by becoming the youngest male cricketer to score a List A century, reaching the milestone at the remarkable age of just 14.

Aman was recently acquired by Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2026 auction for Rs 40 lakh. He had previously played for Delhi Capitals in the 2023 season and made his IPL debut for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2022.

In the match, Kumar Kushagra scored 105 while Anukul Roy smashed 98 to help Jharkhand post 368/7. Aman was one of three Puducherry bowlers to complete his full quota of 10 overs. In response, Puducherry were bowled out for 235 in 41.4 overs.

Jharkhand's bowlers applied the pressure effectively, with Rajandeep Singh claiming 3 wickets for 47 runs. All-rounder Anukul also contributed with the ball, taking 2 for 58.
